Terms of Service

Concept — legal review pending

Last updated: July 2026

1. Who we are

These terms are an agreement between you and goSettle B.V., Schiedamse Vest 154, 3011 BH Rotterdam, Netherlands. Chamber of Commerce (KvK): 96131845, VAT: NL867482011B01. Questions? Email [email protected]. By creating an account or using goSettle, you accept these terms.

2. What goSettle is

goSettle is a mobile app that combines two things:

  • End-to-end encrypted communication: 1-on-1 and group chats, voice and video calls, file sharing, location sharing, self-destructing messages, view-once media and screenshot protection. Your content is technically unreadable to us. Our servers only see that a message was sent, never what it says.
  • A non-custodial crypto wallet: send and receive digital assets such as Solana, Bitcoin, Ethereum and stablecoins like USDC and USDT, exchange between them in the wallet, and pay other users via their @handle or phone number, with confirmation via Face ID per payment.

Read section 5 carefully. It describes what "non-custodial" means for you in practice. It is the most important part of these terms.

3. Pre-launch status

The goSettle app is expected to launch in 2026, starting on iOS. Until then, and during early releases, keep in mind:

  • Features may change, be delayed, or be dropped before or after launch.
  • Anything we say about future features — on our website, in presentations or elsewhere — describes forward-looking ambitions, not commitments. Our roadmap is a direction, not a promise.
  • These terms apply to the service as it actually exists at the time you use it.

4. Eligibility and verification

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • Every user must complete identity verification (KYC): a valid identity document and a liveness check, processed via our verification partner. There are no anonymous accounts.
  • You must provide accurate information, and keep it accurate. If verification fails, or if we reasonably believe your information is false, we may refuse, suspend or close your account.
  • The age of your account is visible to other users. This is part of how trust works on goSettle.
  • One account per person; your account is personal and cannot be transferred or shared.

5. Your wallet, your keys, your responsibility

The goSettle wallet is non-custodial. This has real consequences and you need to understand them before using it:

  • Your recovery phrase (12 words) and private keys are generated on your phone and never leave it. goSettle never has access to them.
  • You are solely responsible for your recovery phrase. Store it safely, offline, and never share it with anyone — including anyone claiming to work for goSettle. We will never ask for it.
  • If you lose your recovery phrase and your device, your funds are permanently lost. There is no reset button, no support ticket, no exception. We cannot recover your keys, cannot restore access, cannot freeze funds and cannot reverse or cancel transactions. Nobody can. That is how non-custodial systems work.
  • goSettle holds no client funds. We are not a bank, not a custodian, not a deposit-taking institution and not a payment institution holding your money. Your assets exist on public blockchains, controlled only by your keys.
  • Blockchain transactions are final. Check the recipient's @handle, phone number or address before you confirm. A payment sent to the wrong recipient cannot be undone by us.

6. Crypto risks

Digital assets are volatile. Their value can fall sharply, quickly, and to zero. Only use funds you can afford to lose. goSettle provides technology, not financial services advice: nothing in the app, on the website or in our communications is investment, financial, legal or tax advice. You alone decide what you buy, hold, exchange or send, and you are responsible for any taxes that apply to you.

7. Acceptable use

goSettle is built for private, secure communication and payments between verified people. You may not use it to:

  • break any law, including money-laundering, terrorist-financing and sanctions rules;
  • commit fraud, run scams, or mislead other users;
  • harass, threaten or abuse others, or distribute illegal content;
  • circumvent verification, impersonate someone else, or operate accounts for third parties;
  • probe, attack, overload or reverse engineer the service, or interfere with other users;
  • use the service if the law of your country prohibits you from doing so.

We cannot read your encrypted content — and we never will — but we can act on verifiable signals such as fraud reports, verification failures and unlawful conduct. Violations may lead to warnings, suspension or closure of your account. Closing your account never gives us access to your funds; your keys remain yours.

8. Availability and changes

We work hard to keep goSettle available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free operation. The service is provided "as is". We may update, change or discontinue features, and we may suspend the service for maintenance or security. Public blockchains are operated by third parties; we have no control over their availability, fees or performance.

9. Liability

Under Dutch law, our liability is limited as follows:

  • We are not liable for loss of your recovery phrase or private keys, for transactions you (or anyone using your device or keys) authorised, or for sending funds to a wrong recipient.
  • We are not liable for changes in the value of digital assets, or for the availability or behaviour of blockchain networks and other third-party systems.
  • We are not liable for indirect damage, such as lost profits, lost data or missed opportunities.
  • For damage that is attributable to us, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the event, or, if that is nothing, to EUR 100.

None of these limits apply where liability cannot be excluded under Dutch law, such as in cases of intent or deliberate recklessness on our part.

10. Ending the agreement

You can stop using goSettle and delete your account at any time. Before you do, move your funds or make sure you have your recovery phrase. Your wallet remains accessible with your recovery phrase, but we cannot help you recover it afterwards. We may close accounts that violate these terms or where the law requires us to. Provisions that by their nature should survive (such as liability limits and governing law) remain in force after termination.

11. Changes to these terms

We may amend these terms, for example when features launch or laws change. For significant changes we will notify you in advance in the app or on the website. If you continue using goSettle after a change takes effect, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, stop using the service and close your account.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes will be brought before the competent court in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, unless mandatory consumer law gives you the right to another court. Nothing in these terms limits protections you have under mandatory (consumer) law.
